Suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues, microsurgery or ophthalmic surgery. 

In vivo studies demonstrate that suture retains approximately 50 to 60% of its original strength 7 days post-implantation, and approximately 20 to 30% of its original tensile strength at 14 days post-implantation.
